****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for keeping in touch with the baliwaves ’99 for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value for surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
So this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight increase in wave height. Not much but when it’s only been half a foot for so long it’s a welcome relief. The tide was still running out for a 0.6mtr Low scheduled for 10.00AM so it was Middle Reef that had a few waves. And at 7.30AM there were a few riders already on it. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time with the wind coming lightly out of the NW @ 0-1knot.
So as it show’s on photo No.1 in today’s gallery we headed down to the Southern end of the island to Bali’s Premier and wave magnet location of Uluwatu. At 9.45AM and just before the bottom of the low tide wave height on Ulu’s Racetrack section was averaging 2ft or waist to waist high plus with maybe the occassional head high set wave appearing on the Main Peak. As the tide started filling back in we did get a quick pulse in waves with a few nice one’s still running down the Racetrack.
At first surfing conditions were clean and tidy with an off shore SE wind, this only lasted through until 11.00AM when the wind started to dedicate more to the S-SSE, but still light.
Today’s High Tide was of 1.7mtrs @ 4.00PM
Weather wise it was mainly cloudy and overcast with a few sunny patches thrown in to round it all off. Temperature wise right now at 5.30PM we have a sultry 29 degree’s Celsius and 79% Humidity. Wind direction is now coming back out of the SE @ 5-8knot. Sunrise was at 5.49Am and will set at 6.16PM. Looking like a very good chance of rain this evening.
Ok we’re not sure what we will be getting up to tomorrow, either chasing small waves… or big fish, one of the two for sure.
