****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the the baliwaves ’99, coming to ya’s live from the No.1 holiday island destination of Bali. And with fingers crossed (I bet) that by some chance of probability, wave height has improved.
Well not as yet I’m afraid to say. This mornings 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban had wave height even smaller than what it was yesterday, and that is small ! Yesterday my guest and I thought we’d take advantage of the micro size conditions and head out for a days sport fishing instead. Brian was pretty glad that we did as we got too cruise past all the locations from Canggu all the way down to the southern end of the island at Uluwatu, just ripples breaking for the surf school masses. So instead of slugging it out for knee to waist high waves we were slugging it out with Spanish Mackeral, GT’s, Baracudda & some Tuna, it was a fair day’s catch and a fine dinner.
What can I say except watch the swell charts and wait, it shouldn’t be more than a couple of days or so of these dull drums before we see some more respectable size and a few more locations on offer.
Weather wise it was mainly over cast all day Sunday and today Monday it’s been raining on and off. Right now at 4.45PM the outside temperature is still a warm 27 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 84%. Wind direction is now out of the North @ 2-3knot. Sunrise was at 5.49AM and with set at 6.16PM. With a big chance of more rain falling again later this eveing.
In the mean time I have loaded up a 3 part report from our friends up at the Kandui Surf Resort in the Mentawai Islands. And you can find that on their page or just hit the link on the “Latest Reports” over on the right hand side of the page.
