****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
We kicked off our day with the mandatory surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Surfing conditions were not looking too bad at the time (7.00AM). Wind direction was coming lightly out of the North with wave height showing in the chest to head high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
But we thought we’d be smart and take a run up to Canggu… After spending the next hour and half in some knarly traffic through Kuta / Legian & Seminyak by the time we arrived the wind had switched to the West and Canggu was looking crap. No surfers in the water with wave height in the chest to over head range.
So back in the car and then we decided on just running back over to the nearest location on the East Coast which was Serangan. As ya’s can see there were some very nice waves coming through and without a zillion surf schools or straight out novices. The proof was in the amount of waves that went through un ridden. Wave height was pushing the solid double head high and maybe even a slightly bigger freak set occasionally. Surfing conditions stayed clean and tidy through until around 2.30PM when the wind shifted for the worse to the SW.
Ok that’s about me for now, it’s been a long day, that traffic is the killer. But we’ll be doing it all over again tomorrow so make sure you stay tuned right here to Bali’s Premier surfing website.
Our good friends at the G-Land Surf Camp have been in touch and have a “special trip” organized to head into the ultimate surfing location this coming Wednesday the 21st of March.
