****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Howdy crew and thanks for taking the time out on a tour of the baliwaves.com (since ’99) for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions here on the first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
First of all, to any concerned for the safety of anyone here in Bali type folks out there all is normal here in Bali after the massive quake that went off yesterday afternoon off Northern Sumatra. I never even felt a tremor here in Tuban, or was there any change in the ocean (7.PM).
Well as I mentioned in yesterdays first “mobile twitter” up date there were a few waves breaking out on Middle Reef for the early risers. Nothing special for Bali wave standards but there was the odd waist to chest high wave peeling off with only a couple of surfers on it. I also had news from down at Uluwatu that there were a few waist to head high waves down there. But by the time hit the top of the High water mark the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking like a big lake.
This morning the 12th and our 6.25AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to be still in the waist to chest high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. And with the morning low tide Middle Reef being the only option for a paddle on the Outers. Hopefully we may see a little spike in wave height through out the day. Stay tuned to the baliwaves as we will be heading south in search of waves.
I also hoped you enjoyed those first photos out of G-Land thanks to the crew at the G-Land Surf Camp. If your wondering, I’ve re located them back to their G-Land Surf Report page in the baliwaves reports section. Some of you may have also noticed a photo gallery full of nothing but bodyboarders getting shacked at Padang Padang. Even though there wasn’t a one of willing to support our new camera appeal.
Speaking of the appeal, all tickets are gone and we’ll get the draw on the road ASAP. There was a total of 38 V.I.P’s that jumped in to help, grabbing from 1 to 16 tickets a piece. Thanks again to all of you baliwaves V.I.P’s.
Today’s Tidal information has a 0.6mtr Low scheduled for 7.00AM and then rolling back in for a 2.4mtr High around the 1.00PM mark.
Weather wise right now at 6.40AM the outside temperature is sitting on 26 degree’s Celsius, Humidity on 89%. Wind direction is coming out of the NE @ 3-5knot but predicted to swing more to the E – SE by mid morning and increase to Trade wind strength by early afternoon. Sunrise went down at 6.22AM and will set at 6.18PM.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost.
