22nd – 23rd April 2012
****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for joining us here at the baliwaves (since ’99) for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions from here on every sane surfers first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Yesterday morning the 22nd with a dropping dwell and light and variable winds (continuous variations) we decided on having an early start and hitting the East Coast of Bali. Not too mention hopefully, the right numbers in regards to the amount of surfers we were going to be sharing with. Arriving at our destination around 7.00AM mark to find waves peeling off both left and rights in the head to well over head range, and clean off shore wind out of the West). There was one other surfer down the beach a bit scoring wave after to wave to himself, obviously having a pretty good time. We were later joined by a few other surfers, making ours a party of 6.
This mornings 7.30AM surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have continued to slide. Now down into the thigh to chest high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were a little bit bumpy on the reefs with the wind coming out of the SW @ 4-7knot.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 2.6mtr High @ 11.00AM and then draining out to a 0.1mtr Low around the 5.30PM mark.
Weather wise it’s been a 50/50 sunshine and cloud type of day so far with te outside temperature currently sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius (1.00PM). Wind direction is still coming out of the SSW @ 4-8knot.
There’s not looking like too much change in wave size again tomorrow so Ketut and I might push the boat down and see if we can catch something to BBQ. I also spotted another surf up date from the Kandui Surf Resort (Mentawai islands) so I’ll get that on line before we take off. Have a good one and thanks again for checking out the original Bali surf report.
Here’s some weird news, right this very moment there would be lucky to be a hand full of surfers in the entire National Park where the legendary waves of G-Land are located. Yes that’s right 2 surfers in the whole darn area. So if you want to have a once in a life time chance of an empty line up make sure you call into the G-Land Surf Camp and get over there pronto. Contact us now if you want a helping hand organizing everything to get you there.
