****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Welcome back to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for a tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
This morning we were expecting to see a little bit more swell on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban, and at first light it was showing some promise. Wave height was breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Right in the 2-3ft+ sector, or waist to head high plus. At the time surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the NW. As it shows in today’s 50 strong photo gallery that’s where we ended up surfing.
First up there was around 35 surfers in the line up and some intense power surfing going down from the Kuta Reef local surfers. But the boys must have got hungry and split not long after we arrived. By the time we headed back for the shore there would have only been 8 – 12 surfers left in the water on Kuta Reef. Although we were all waiting for the SE Trade wind to kick in, it just never did today.
Tidal info for today we had a 0.6mtr Low @ 6.00AM and then filling back in to a 2.5mtr High around Midday.
Weather wise it was mainly cloudy while I was in the boat shooting with the odd hot and sunny break. Right now at 4.15PM there’s probably more cloud happening than earlier, temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius and Humidity of 70%. Wind direction is South at 9 – 111knot.
Wave Outlook for the next week is still looking real strong with wave pretty well all through the weekend and a couple of new swells through the coming week. So stay tuned to the one and only original Bali surf report.
