****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and welcome back to your baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday paradise of BALI.
So as I mentioned yesterday about Ketut, against all odd heading up to Canggu in the morning, here’s the photos that he shot. After Canggu, Ketut and Dewa then decided on making another un all the way back down the coast to Balangan, where he snapped off some more photos (the last 10 or so images are from Balangan).
This mornings surf check here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some nice waves peeling off on the Middle Reef. Wave height was in the chest to over head region, but there were already at least 10-15 surfers out there at 6.30AM. The tide was too low for Kuta Reef or Airports at the time. I’ve since then been back down for another recon around the middle of the in coming tide. Kuta Reef was looking pretty fat and totally wind effected from the howling off shore Easterly, but Airport Left was looking good with chest to head high plus set waves.
Today we won’t be heading back out with the camera gear but we do have a plan in place for tomorrow. But stay tuned cause as soon as I get this stuff on line I’ve got another batch of surfing action photos from our good friends up at The Real Kandui Surf Resort located in the Mentawai Islands.
Looking for a wave today my call would be to head down to Bali’s Premier surfing location of Uluwatu where you’d be getting the optimum size and power available, and maybe a little better shelter from this strong off shore wind.
This mornings text message from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be holding in the chest to over head high class with a light early morning NE wind. Good waves for all involved expected as soon as the off shore Trade wind kicks in. And it certainly has now I tell ya.
Tidal info for today has us down for a 0.7mtr Low around 6.30AM this morning and then running back up to a 2.4mtr High at 1.00PM.
Weather wise outside, well apart from the blustery off shore wind we’ve got a mainly blue sky. Right now at 12.00 noon the outside temperature is a warm 30 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity on 66%. Wind direction is straight Easterly @ 22-25knot.
