****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (since ’99) for the very latest news, (not too mention all the photos we deliver from all over Bali and other area’s of Indonesia) regarding surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 Tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so yesterday there was just too much on and not enough hours in the day for me to get everything rolling, but as we all know, good things come to those who can wait. We kicked off the day with a 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban, mainly just for a swell size and direction indicator. And as predicted we had a nice little bump in wave size, showing chest to head high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
But the boys were after a little bit more juice, so where do you go ? well, that’s easy, straight down to the southern end of the island and Uluwatu. As it shows in the photos I snapped the main focus was on the low tide Racetrack section. Wave height was coming through down there in a very consistent head to double head high on the bigger set waves, with the wind clean off shore outta the East. On arrival there woulda only been around 25 surfers in the water spread between Temple’s and the Track. But by late morning the numbers were up in the mid 70’s between the same distance (700yrs). As the bottom of the tide passed and started to run back in the Main Peak started to produce some perfect waves although slightly smaller than through the morning session.
This mornings surf check (31st) on the Outer Reefs was unfortunately showing way less than yesterday. Currently back down into the waist to chest high region between Kuta Reef and Airports. And if you take a quick look at our (user free) Impossible’s Surf Cam you can also confirm it with only 1-2ft+ waves showing on that long long stretch of reef. Wind direction is pretty well straight off shore out of the East and already fresh at 10-13knot.
I was also in direct contact with my friends at the G-Land Surf Camp this morning and apparantly wave height has also backed off from a perfect head to double head high (yesterday) to a current chest to head high, with the very occassional slightly bigger set. But have you seen the latest installment of photos that the crew have sent over and we in turn have loaded on the G-Land report page ? Well if you haven’t you better pull ya finger out and check em out, cause there are more in transit to us at this very moment. And I’ll say it again, if you want to get over there just drop me a line and I’ll make sure our baliwaves viewers get some cash back into their pockets.
Our friends at ESP (Ego Surf Photography) located right in front of the mechanically perfect wave of Bingin have also dropped off another truck load of photos and as soon as I get them edited they will be available in our Readers Report page.
Today’s Tidal info has us down for a 2.0mtr High @ 6.30AM and will then be running down to a 0.8mtr Low around the 1.00PM mark.
Weather wise outside this morning there is a bit of cloud hanging around but with the solid off shore wind it should be clear sailing by midday. Temperature wise right now at 8.15AM the mercury is sitting on 28 degree’s Ceslsius, Humidity @ 79%. Sunrise @ 6.27AM and will set @ 6.06PM.

Travel Tips:
1/ Ok boys and girls, mums and dads, this is the most important thing you need to remember when your here in Bali. Dengue Fever is a reality and spread by mosquitoes, it’s virus so you can’t take a tablet to prevent it. Here in Bali it has no discrimination as to who will fall victim. So make sure you have insect repellent with you pretty much all the time from those early morning hours and late afternoon when mozzie’s are out looking for a feed of your blood.
2/ This one is more for the boys and girls, riding motor bikes is fun right. But having a motor cycle accident is certainly not, especially when your on holidays. If you don’t ride a bike at home and if you don’t have a license stay away from them. Lately I’ve seen so many fools gassing around on them with absolutely no idea of whats going on around them it is NOT funny. Have you ever seen a hard core cyclist riding around in bare feet, no shirt or helmet ? Why ? Falling off a bike while your doing 35kmh won’t kill you (not every time anyway), but being run over by the car behind or, on coming bloody well will ! Don’t be a tight arse, get a driver and travel in style.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost. Hit this info link to find out more. Limited space, so get in early or you’ll be doing it the hard way.
We also have a few “Home Stay” type rooms available for any of our viewers looking for some clean and tidy accommodation here in Tuban. all rooms are air conditioned, including breakfast for Rp225,000 per night, or Rp275,000 for couples. Best Regards from Bali
