****SURF UP DATE****
Howdy people and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (the best since 1999), for the absolute gospel on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
Ok, just to get us started off our current photo gallery is courtesy of our good friends over at the G-Land Surf Camp. This is kinda a virtual tour of the waves and a little bit of the camp lifestyle itself. I’ve gotta hand it to the resident camp photographer for such an excellent job. And he’ll be waiting there to meet you when you finally make it over there. And like I always say, you need to get over there and experience the total cool vibe that envelopes you in the camp. Especially if your already going to be in Bali, it’s sooooo close.
The ideal way to do it is to hang out in Bali for your first week, get your rhythm happening and then head into the G-Land Surf Camp office and lock it in for an experience you’ll never forget, well until your next trip in anyway. And to make it all a little sweeter contact us here at baliwaves first and I’ll tell you how to get a nice cash back refund into your pocket (only for you guys who support the baliwaves)
Back in Bali, and this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban had wave height back into a nice and fun sized head to well over head between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide running up there were perfect waves hitting Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Then as the tide started to bottom out Middle Reef really turned it on. As the day wore on it looked like wave height was starting to back off a little but hopefully it’ll be on again tomorrow morning. Ketut has stepped forward and volunteered to head out with the camera equipment and shoot us some fresh Bali waves. As my young bloke has requested that his old man takes him for a surfing lesson, man, he’s only just turned 4 years old and already hitting me up, stoked !
Today’s tidal info had us scheduled in for a 2.5mtr High @ 10.00AM and then running down to a 0.2mtr Low around the 4.00PM mark. Tonight also had a Full Moon rising so we can expect some solid tidal ranges over the following few days.
Weather wise, well waddaya reckon it’s Bali, hot and sunny of course.
Changing dollars on the streets of Tuban; — 1AU$=Rp9,075 — 1US$=R9,475 —
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our Free Impossible’s Surf Cam to see when the next new swell starts to hit Bali.
Here’s a little bad news for any of you guys and girls from Australia who have a ticket with Jet Star (Qantas) airlines. Only yesterday I was about to drop a friend at the airport for his flight back to Oz when he gets a call from Jet Star saying his flight has been cancelled. A whopping big 3 hours before the flight, and only lucky that he had his Aussie phone with him so they could contact him. I can only imagine the carnage and frustration from fellow travellers already checked out of their hotels turning up at the airport to find out that there’s no flight home. Who needs to end their holiday in Bali like that ?
Travel Tips:
1/ Ok boys and girls, mums and dads, this is the most important thing you need to remember when your here in Bali. Dengue Fever is a reality and spread by mosquitoes, it’s virus so you can’t take a tablet to prevent it. Here in Bali it has no discrimination as to who will fall victim. So make sure you have insect repellent with you pretty much all the time from those early morning hours and late afternoon when mozzie’s are out looking for a feed of your blood.
2/ This one is more for the boys and girls, riding motor bikes is fun right. But having a motor cycle accident is certainly not, especially when your on holidays. If you don’t ride a bike at home and if you don’t have a license stay away from them. Lately I’ve seen so many fools gassing around on them with absolutely no idea of whats going on around them it is NOT funny. Have you ever seen a hard core cycilist riding around in bare feet, no shirt or helmet ? Why ? Falling off a bike while your doing 35kmh won’t kill you (not every time anyway), but being run over by the car behind or, on coming bloody well will ! Don’t be a tight arse, get a driver and travel in style.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost. Hit this info link to find out more. Limited space, so get in early or you’ll be doing it the hard way.
We also have a few “Home Stay” type rooms available for any of our viewers looking for some clean and tidy accommodation here in Tuban. all rooms are air conditioned, including breakfast for Rp225,000 per night, or Rp275,000 for couples. Plus 1 room that’s fan cooled for Rp150,00 per night. Surfers need to apply, party animals head for Kuta.
Feel free to contact us via email about your next trip to Bali and we might just be able to help make it run a little smoother for you.
Best Regards from Bali
