****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi surfers and welcome aboard the baliwaves (since 1999) for the very latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on every sane surfers first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Just to get the ball rolling my 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking pretty good and showing wave height breaking in the chest to over head high class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still pretty low so no go on Kuta Reef or Airports, but Middle Reef was smoking through some nice shaped head to over head high set waves. With school holidays in full swing there were all ready quite a few surfers in the water and on the beach getting ready to hit the waves.
I decided on taking the old Yamaha RXZ (’97) for a run down to Uluwatu and clear the carbon outta the pipe, and to shoot this current photo gallery we’ve got for ya’s. I probably turned up an hour too late with the tide pushing in hard by 9.30AM. But on first arrival there were some nice ruler straight tube rides happening up at Temple’s and the Main Peak was also bending in a few barrels. As the tide made it to the top of the High it was getting too fat so I called it a day and pointed the bike back towards Tuban.
Yeah now don’t forget it is the start of our High or Peak surfing / holiday season here in Bali. So if your coming over or for that matter already over here just take it easy both out on the road and in the surf and you’ll still have a good time here on the “holiday island”
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to Dave over at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling head to almost double head high perfect waves peeling off from the top of Money Tree’s. And Dave has assured me that we will have another round of photos fresh outta camp arriving here at home first thing tomorrow morning, and worth waiting for. I’ll say it again and again, if you want to get over to the G-Land Surf Camp and experience the surf trip of your life drop us a line here at baliwaves.com and we’ll make sure you get a solid discount and some extra spending loot back in your pocket.
The next Tide according to my brand new RipCurl Tidemaster Titanium is calling a 0.2mtr Low @ 6.50PM. Gotta love these watches hey.
Weather wise it’s been pretty much a perfect cloudless type of day here in Bali with the temperature maxing out at 30 degree’s Celsius.
Travel Tips:
1/ Ok boys and girls, mums and dads, this is the most important thing you need to remember when your here in Bali. Dengue Fever is a reality and spread by mosquitoes, it’s virus so you can’t take a tablet to prevent it. Here in Bali it has no discrimination as to who will fall victim. So make sure you have insect repellent with you pretty much all the time from those early morning hours and late afternoon when mozzie’s are out looking for a feed of your blood.
2/ This one is more for the boys and girls, riding motor bikes is fun right. But having a motor cycle accident is certainly not, especially when your on holidays. If you don’t ride a bike at home and if you don’t have a license stay away from them. Lately I’ve seen so many fools gassing around on them with absolutely no idea of whats going on around them it is NOT funny. Have you ever seen a hard core cyclist riding around in bare feet, no shirt or helmet ? Why ? Falling off a bike while your doing 35kmh won’t kill you (not every time anyway), but being run over by the car behind or, on coming bloody well will ! Don’t be a tight arse, get a driver and travel in style.
