****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hello my surfing friends and a very big thank you fr for dropping into the baliwaves (since 1999) to see what’s happening here on (I know) your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
First of all I have to admit that it’s good to be back in the warm sun shine of Bali. This trip was my first visit to any country experiencing a winter in something like 17 years. I was totally unprepared and not expecting to be so affected by the cold. I didn’t get to have my ear operation, with the Dr’s full surgery schedule I just couldn’t spend another 4 weeks wait, plus the post op period of another 4 weeks. So I’ve re scheduled for Feb 2013, after surfing for the last 40 odd years of my life I don’t intend to stop now, anyway…
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs had wave height breaking in the waist to head high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At 6.45AM the tide was pretty well much on the bottom of the Low so Middle Reef was the only option and there looked to be few surfers already out there. Kuta Reef and Airport Left should have a few through mid morning. Surfing conditions at the time were glassy as with no wind detectable, but since then the Trade wind has kicked in out of the SE and back to off shore wind.
These current photos were shot down at Uluwatu yesterday by non other than our man Ketut, with some nice tube rides down along the Racetrack section.
Dave has also texted through his G-Land Surf Report calling slightly bigger and better waves showing this morning. At 7.30AM there were two surfers riding head to over head high waves at Kong’s with sheet glass conditions. The crew over at G-Land would be in for a good day as soon as the tide started running back in and the off shore wind kicked in.
Dave has sent us through another 50 photos and that will be my next job, to get them on-line after my lunch break. If your interested in getting some G-Land Experience just contact us on this link and we’ll set you up at the G-Land Surf Camp with a solid discount.
The next tide will be a 2.5mtr High at 1.43PM
Weather wise outside right now at 11.45AM there’s tonne’s of blue sky with the temperature currently sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 66%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 10-13knot.
