The Real Kandui surf resort; Surf Up Date
July 2nd surf report
We got a little pulse of swell yesterday and it was big enough for a few nuggets to be had at Kandui’s and Hideaways. Conditions were good and, if you were patient enough, you could pick off a sweet one. Beng Beng was also good and a few guys headed over there. Our return guest, Bob, likes the big barrel but mistakenly got on the Beng Beng boat! It was a rough evening for poor Bob seeing all the Kandui barrels during the slide show. I’ll post a picture of him at Beng Beng and you will see that he still made the best out his situation. I’ll also post a picture of our guest’s, Mark, fins out slash at Hideaways. If I have to tell you where the rest of the pictures are from, you haven’t been paying enough attention to our websites over the years! Looks like things will slow down for a couple of days, then there is a moderate swell that is due.
June 28th surf report
The beginning of our current trip is pretty much starting out like the end of our last trip. Honestly, the waves are a little under average and the crowds are a little over average, mostly out of the Ebay zone. But we are getting more than our share of what the area has to offer and have been getting lucky chasing wind changes, scoring a couple uncrowded sessions, and getting some fun waves. Attached are some photos of Bankvaults, a couple from Hideaways, and a couple from Aframes. Things are looking up with a few moderate swells on the way and some light winds forecasted. A bigger swell might in the pipeline for the end of this trip. It’s still in the long range forecast so no guaranties, but we are hoping!
June 26th surf report
The surf has been pretty average lately. It’s still been plenty fun though, and we have gotten waves mainly at Hideaways and Beng Beng, but also at Burgerworld, Nipusi, Kandui, and (of course) the waves out in front of the resort. It’s been, admittedly, pretty busy around here lately, especially at Beng Beng and Hideaways, but we have managed to get some good sessions in with no one or just a handful of other surfers. Those sessions more than make up for the busy ones. There is swell today and we planned a pre dawn assault on Hideaways, but our guests leave mid morning and it looks like they have decided to rest their tired, sunburned bodies and call it a trip. The celebrating they were doing last night might have something to do with their sleep in as well! Our new group gets here this evening and they are looking at some average surf to begin their trip, then something might be brewing on the horizon!
