****AFTERNOON SURF UPDATE****
Hello everyone and welcome back to your no mucking around baliwaves.com (Bali’s first and still the best since 1999) for the absolute latest on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
First off a special hello to all our friends tuning in from Italy !
Now our mandatory morning 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was as yet showing any signs of a new swell gracing us, but we knew it was coming thanks to the No.1 Indo swell predictors at STORMSURF.com. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only showing wave height in the waist to chest high class. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with an early morning off shore ENE wind.
We hit the road around 7.00AM and headed East for Keramas. It was a bit of a surprise to pull into an already almost full car park (it is Peak Season), so we were prepared for the packed out line up of around 30+ surfers at one of Bali’s best right hand waves. Wave height here was a very consistent head to almost double head high and once again with a clean off shore wind on it.
From there it was back down the coast to Secrets where wave height was also in the head to well over head high range on the set waves, but with no one else in sight. The boys had a quick paddle here until the Tradewind eventually started to show. And then…. it was back on the highway and switching from east to west coasts and Balangan.
Balangan was also showing the new swell by this time with head to double head high set waves breaking from the point down through the middle section. A lot more room to move at this location so having 40 surfers spread through the line up wasn’t really an issue. As usual a lot of the waves were peeling off a bit too quick, and as usual some were peeling off for a couple of hundred yards.
Weather wise another cloudy over cast start to our day here in Bali and even a few drops of rain fell on the east coast. But there were enough sunny patch’s to keep the girls on Balangan beach out working on their tans.
Ok folks another surfing marathon for our team today and we’ll be back out there… somewhere again tomorrow so stay stoked right here on the original Bali surf report, baliwaves.com
Motorcycle’s, It certainly is the silly season here in Bali when it comes to my pet hate, which is totally un skilled motorcyclists in Bali. Let’s face it there’s enough maniac riders and drivers here in Bali as it is without westerners trying to ride / drive the same way. No helmets, shoes or shirts screaming and weaving down the highway. One minute feeling really cool the next minute your waiting for an ambulance to save your life. Don’t do it ! just because your on holidays try and keep using your brain and common sense.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost. Hit this info link to find out more. Limited space, so get in early or you’ll be doing it the hard way.
