****AFTERNOON SURF UPDATE****
Hello surfers and welcome to the weekend here on baliwaves.com (Bali’s first surfing website since 1999) for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions live from the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
A very special Happy Birthday to my youngest child, Made Amanda who turned 2 yrs old today !!!
I was up early this morning and down on the beach taking in a surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Quite a significant drop in size today as predicted by the Indian Ocean specialists at stormsurf.com. Although at 6.45Am there was still some nice sized head to well over head set waves peeling off perfectly on Middle Reef. Not just Middle Reef either if you opened your eye’s. The tide was still too low for Kuta Reef and Airport Left but they woulda had a few smallies when the tide started running back in.
Once again the Easterly off shore wind was also up early and already cranking up into the 15knot+ range at the time, making surfing conditions a little bumpy on the Outer Reefs.
The next tide today is going to be a 1.5mtr High at 4.24PM
Weather wise it was another grey and gloomy start to the day but by mid morning it was mainly blue sky and sunshine. Right now at 3.30PM the outside temperature is a very warm 28 degree’s Celsius, with the humidity on 66%. Wind direction is now SE at 35km’s.
Hopefully this wind will settle down next week and again open up a lot more locations for us.
Dave from over at the G-Land Surf Camp has sent us through another surf report and photo gallery and you can find those already loaded into our G-Land Report page. The boys at ESP (Ego Surf Photography) have also dropped us off another 100+ photos that they shot down at Bingin. It’s a sik collection featuring some solid Bingin (probably as big as it can handle) and as soon as we get them edited they’ll be found on our Readers Report page.
Motorcycle’s, It certainly is the silly season here in Bali when it comes to my pet hate, which is totally un skilled motorcyclists in Bali. Let’s face it there’s enough maniac riders and drivers here in Bali as it is without westerners trying to ride / drive the same way. No helmets, shoes or shirts screaming and weaving down the highway. One minute feeling really cool the next minute your waiting for an ambulance to save your life. Don’t do it ! just because your on holidays try and keep using your brain and common sense.
