****AFTERNOON SURF UPDATE****
Hello to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves.com (Bali’s first surfing website since 1999, come to think of it, Bali’s only website at the time) for the absolute latest and greatest news (no copy / paste stuff here) on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday island destination of Bali.
Starting our day with the mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to find wave height a poor looking 1-2ft between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean enough with the SE Trade wind just starting to pick up in strength.
But as you see in today’s photo gallery we were down on the southern end of the island at Bali’s Premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving around 7.30AM just after the top of the tide to find super clean waves breaking on Temple’s and the Main Peak in the 2-4ft range (waist to well over head). At the time there was only around 25 surfers scattered between the two sections and plenty of waves bending in. As the tide started running down there was a nice 2hr window where the set waves were super consistent and a few screaming barrels reeling off down through the low tide Race Track section.
Weather wise here on the holiday island we had another overcast start to the day but by mid morning it was blue sky and clear sailing. Temperature wise right now at 5.30PM the mercury is still sitting on a warm 26 degree’s Celsius, humidity is at 70%. Wind direction is howling outta the SE at 39kmh.

Motorcycle’s, It certainly is the silly season here in Bali when it comes to my pet hate, which is totally un skilled motorcyclists in Bali. Let’s face it there’s enough maniac riders and drivers here in Bali as it is without westerners trying to ride / drive the same way. No helmets, shoes or shirts screaming and weaving down the highway. One minute feeling really cool the next minute your waiting for an ambulance to save your life. Don’t do it ! just because your on holidays try and keep using your brain and common sense.
