****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves.com (Bali’s best surfing website since 1999). From right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination that’s got something for everyone… BALI.
Ok so as you may have guessed time has been of an extremely high premium to me the last few days, chasing waves all over the island and then couple with a very busy time for the Balinese Hindu community. But anyway you would have already know that those photos were shot down on the southern end of Bali at Balangan.
Today we opted for some waves close to home at Kuta Reef here in Tuban. Wave height was just a pure fun sized 2-4ft with plenty of hollow sections and a clean off shore wind on it. Surprisingly low numbers in the water for this location that is so close to Kuta. It really does look like all the Euro learn to surf crew have moved down to the bukit for a change. By the time we pulled up the anchor there would have only been 8-10 surfers left in the line up and still plenty of tide left.
Tomorrows another day and we’ll be back on the road looking for more high quality waves and minimal crew so make sure ya’s all stay stoked right here on the baliwaves.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly overcast sultry type of day. Right now at 6.00PM the outside temperature is still sitting 26 degree’s Celsius with the humidity on 79%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 30kms.
Oh yeah and just for the record, shooting photos out of a skinny non stop rocking boat is kinda like sitting on a mechanical bull while your hand holding a 600mm fixed focal length lens trying to pull manual focus and a constantly changing shutter speed.
Special hello to my old friend JK and Family down in Newcastle.
