****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello friends of Bali and thanks again for tuning into the baliwaves.com (since 1999) for today’s latest and greatest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the always in season No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Alright well we did our first surf check this morning via the baliwaves.com “free surf cam” just after 6.00AM to find wave height looked to have backed off a touch from late yesterday afternoons solid clean up sets. From there it was down for an eye ball on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to find wave height still cranking through in the 4-6ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. How ever the wind was already light on shore coming out of the West by this time. Even so there was a solid early morning crew already out on Kuta Reef.
Then it was time to pack up my young fella and get him off to school (no private international school, just the normal school for normal kids). While Ketut hit the road for Keramas with the camera equipment. And as it clearly shows in today’s 50+ photo gallery it was absolutely cranking at K-Mas today. Some solid set waves were belting through as the tide was running out and some solid tube rides going down. Ketut also mentioned that the last remaining locally owned warung / cafe situated right in front of the break was still standing but no longer open to the surfing public, but that was a mistake apparently the last warung standing in front of the best right hand wave in Bali was just under going some renovation. This locally owned and run cafe has been given the go ahead from the resort to remain open to the surfing public, and that’s a good thing ! Thanks to our friend Charlie on the East side of the island for up dating baliwaves with the information I’ve also noticed down at the once “hard to find” location of Balangan there is also a new huge hotel being built, and likewise up at Canggu the same is happening. Just can’t stop the progress that surfing has initiated I guess.
Surfing conditions at Keramas were pristine with a light off shore wind with up to 25 surfers in the water.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 1.9mtr High at 7.33PM tonight.
Weather wise here on the holiday island the morning started off with an overcast sky before clearing away by mid morning to leave tonnes of blue sky. Currently right now at 3.45PM the outside temperature is sitting on 29C, with the humidity on 62%. Wind direction is NW at 5-8knot.
Davey phoned through from the G-land Surf Camp to call in macking waves in the 6-8ft+ sector with on shore wind and no surfers in the water.
