11th – 12th Sept 2012
****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hey howdy crew and a big thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only place to come and take your next tropical surfing holiday at… BALI.
Well just for the record yesterday the 11th we were hanging out down at Balangan. Smallish waves in the waist to chest high with the occasional bigger head to head high plus freak set. The place was pretty well deserted for a change, only a hand full of surfers in the water and the normally colorful beach pretty empty of beautiful women ? Surfing conditions were pretty ordinary with the wind cross shore outta the south.
This morning’s surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban had wave height in the 1-3ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, with the most size hitting Middle Reef. At the time surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the north north west.
So our crew loaded up the rental and headed over to the East Coast to Keramas. Arriving at 7.45Am to find wave height also only min the waist to chest high division with the odd bigger freaky. Only 8 other surfers in the water at first and at best the crowd would have peaked out around the 12-14 mark. Clean off shore wind that later turned to glass and the usual Keramas power even at this size. Another super friendly crew of surfers in the water and all my boys commented on how cool the local surfers all were.
The next tide today is going to be 1.9mtr High at 8.16PM
Weather wise; just hot and sunny, perfect holiday stuff.
Ok I’m knocken off early today (for a change) but before you check out make sure you have a good look through the baliwaves, cause there’s something for everyone in today’s line up.
