****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (delivering since 1999) for the latest and the greatest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from now where else than your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Another mammoth day for Ketut and I today starting off with our 6.30Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban, to find wave height to have kicked back into the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind coming lightly out of the NW. At the time was still pretty low so Middle Reef was the obvious choice and picking up the bigger set waves.
So we hang out for a little longer before Ketut headed up to Canggu to see what was happening at the Oakley World Pro Junior surfing contest. But by the time he arrived the contest had all ready been put on hold waiting for cleaner waves and conditions on the morrow.
I headed over to the East side of the island to one of my favorite locations, namely Keramas. We arrived around 8.30AM to find the tide was still pretty low but some real nice waves peeling off on the main break and at the car park. Only 4 surfers in the water on arrival with a clean off shore wind. It wasn’t until around late morning to midday the the number of surfers starting to pick up but even so with the high tide there would have only around 20 guys in the water.
Weather wise today it was another scorcher over on the black sand of Keramas with the temperature easily busting into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Ok the electricity has just died here in Tuban so sorry but this old lap top is going to die any second, (plugged in dependent) I’ll get this finished off later tonight if it kicks back in. By the way did any of you check out the baliwaves.com FREE Impossible’s SURF CAM late this afternoon for a brilliant sun set going down behind some perfect little lines peeling along the reef. Well if you didn’t don’t forget to tomorrow, as a matter of fact if you want an early morning surf report from here in Bali just log into the baliwaves on sunset and check out the conditions, too easy right.
Anyway tune in again for some more news on the Oakley Pro Junior and some more photos and reports from out and about Bali.
