BALI
22nd October 2012
Hi folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (Bali’s No.1 surf report website since 1999) for the absolute latest and greatest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on every sane surfers first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
This mornings 6.20Am surf check on the Outer Reefs was looking very ordinary with only knee to waist high plus sized waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Middle Reef was really the only option for paddle on the Outers with waist to chest high waves. Surfing conditions were still clean and glassy at the time with the wind light on shore coming out of the NW at 2-3knot.
So with the last bit of tide and a North North West wind we got Ketut to take a run up to Canggu, leaving here at 6.30AM and arriving at 7.00Am to find 2-3 footers and a clean off shore wind. The left hander on the sand bar had the best waves with around 20-25 surfers on it. The right hand river mouth section still had a couple of waves holding but the tide was just getting to low for it. Check Ketut’s photo Gallery from this morning.
The next tide today here in Bali is going to be a 1.8mtr High at 3.58PM.
Weather wise it’s another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island and right now at 11.30AM the outside temperature is a warm 30C with the humidity on 78%. Wind direction is straight West at 8-10knot and onshore right along Bali’s West Coast.
This mornings G-Land Surf Report (text message) from the G-Land Surf Camp reads like this “3-4 foot of swell this morning breaking from Kongs to the top of Money Tree’s. Wind direction is light on shore out of the WNW. One lone surfer riding Kongs and getting some long and clean rides”
Contact us if you want to get over there for the end of season session and we’ll sling you a solid 15% discount off any advertised camp package.
Can you send Slim a text surf report from where you are in Indo today ? after the best conditions have already passed and you’ve had your fill of course ! Do it daily and you can promote a buisness at the same time (maybe get a free nasi goreng at your local warung, who knows). Contact me via email if your interested.
You’ll also find baliwaves on Facebook, twitter & instagram so get on it !
Like I mentioned in yesterdays report Davey and I headed down to the “SINGLE FIN” bar at Uluwatu yesterday afternoon to hook up with our old friend and mentor Peter McCabe. It was our first visit to the Single Fin but I tell it’s definitely not going to be our last. This place on a Sunday afternoon rocks. So if you haven’t experienced it yet make sure you get down there next Sunday afternoon.
