BALI
14th October 2012
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (producing the goods since 1999) for our Sunday Session on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only real choice for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
I kicked off my day with a 6.30AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban to find wave height had continued on the downward trend. Not much happening on Kuta Reef, no surfers and only knee to waist high on the in coming tide. Middle Reef was also looking a fat knee to waist high with maybe the odd bigger freak set. But Airport Left had a couple of nice looking waist to head high sets coming through while I was on the beach. Surfing conditions couldn’t have been better for this time of the year with the SE Tradewind already producing a clean off shore wind.
So as it shows in today’s photo gallery I blasted off we were down on location at Bali’s premier surfing arena of ULUWATU. And here were not surprised to the set waves hitting the well over head mark. At 8.30AM there would have been around 30 surfers riding from the top of the Racetrack up to the Main Peak and then another 20 or so up on the Temple section. Super clean surfing conditions at Ulu and local surfer Made Lapur being the stand out surfer riding a Phil Murray special.
Driving home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there only looked to be a few micro knee high set waves lapping onto the reef, flat as a pancake on Padang Padang.
Weather wise here on the holiday island it’s been another super sunny Sunday for the beach lovers and summer is coming on hard and fast. Currently right now at 3.15PM the outside temperature is still sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius with the wind coming out of the SE at 12-14knot.
This mornings G-Land Surf Report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in wave height at head to well over head. The best waves were happening on the bottom end of Kongs and the top end of Money Tree’s. Only 8 surfers in the water and a clean off shore wind.
