****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (doing it since 1999) for our Sunday Session on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only place for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was telling us that wave height had just about dropped out and today only showing wave height in the 1-2ft+ sector between Kuta reef and Airport Left. The tide was still on the bottom at the time so only Middle Reef was producing some ridable waves.
So we didn’t have much choice other then to head south to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving around 8.30AM to find wave height here was also still pretty small but a little more respectable at waist to just slightly over head. There was only around 20 other surfers on the scene with the main focus happening on the Racetrack. But as the tide started to fill min a bit more The Peak and Temple’s also started to work. Surfing conditions were pretty clean with the wind for the most part of it coming out of the SSE and cross off shore. By midday the crowd situation had fully changed going from a mellow morning crew of 20 to somewhere in the 80’s mark and time to pack up.
As it shows in today’s photo gallery there were some ok waves if you waited for the right ones to come through. I’ve also thrown in a couple of frames I grabbed from our FREE Impossible’s SURF CAM and it looked like there was a few mini lines for the crew down there.
Weather wise it was mainly hot and sunny with a few patches of cloud from time to time. At 5.30PM this afternoon the mercury was still sitting on a very warm 29 degree’s Celisus, with the humidity hovering on the 70% mark. Wind direction was more to the SE @ 12-14knot.
Ok that’s me for today time to chill out with the family and enjoy the rest of the evening.
