BALI
13th October 2012
Howdy folks and thanks for calling by the baliwaves.com (Bali’s original surf report wensite since 1999) for our weekend of waves and today’s dose of surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best value for tropical surfing holiday dollar, BALI.
Yesterday afternoon as forecast wave height started to back off (even though there was still some nice little head high set waves peeling off on Kuta Reef) so this morning we knew we’d be scoring some perfect left and rights up the coast a bit at Canggu. As it show’s in today’s photo gallery I snapped off wave height was a consistent head to well over head on all 3 main sections of this location. We arrived at 7.20am to see 5 surfers riding the left hand reef break, 8 surfers on the left hand sand bar and as usual a more aggressive number of 20 riding the right hand river mouth.
Surfing conditions remained clean and tidy with an off shore wind through until 9.30AM when the SE Trade wind started to kick in and continually build in strength, making it a cross shore wind at Canggu.
Looking south to the couple of popular surf school breaks and there was solid number at both locations.
Ketut and Davey (thanks for the loan of the camera equipment) headed back over to the East Coast for round 4 of the OAKLEY WORLD PRO JUNIOR surfing contest. According to Ketut surfing conditions were faultless with wave height in the shoulder to over head class on the bigger set waves. I’ve checked to boys photos and that is my next job to get some of them on line for ya’s. In the mean time if you want more info check out the isctour.com or straight to the Oakley Pro Junior website for all the news. There’s a lay day called for Sunday but hopefully resuming again on Monday with the final rounds of the event.
The next tide today here in Bali is going to be a 2.4mtr High later this evening.
Weather wise another extremely hot and sunny day here on the holiday island and at 3.00PM the outside temperature was still sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is gusting hard out of the SE at 20knot.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling nice waves in the head to well over head high range with clean surfing conditions at 8.30AM. The best waves were on Money Tree’s down to the Launching Pad and 5 surfers in the water having a tube fest !
