BALI
3rd November 2012
Hello crew and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves.com (the surfers surf report since 1999) for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions here on the little tropical holiday island that’s got something for everyone, BALI.
This mornings 6.00AM surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking pretty darn small. Only 1-1ft+ of swell showing between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. It was low tide at the time so the only option was on Middle Reef, and if you were super keen and patient you might have got a couple of fun little ones. No surfers were doing it at the time though.
So we had no option other than to head south down to Uluwatu. We did stop in for a quick look at Balangan on the way and it was looking it’s usual pretty self but wave height here was also only in that 1-2ft range with only 1 surfer in the water. Uluwatu on the other hand did have a few ridable waves in the waist to chest high plus sector. With the Main Peak and Temple’s providing the better rides. No that’s not a shark in the opening sequence but a Dugong or Menati or maybe even a Mermaid. Anyway surfing conditions were clean and glassy until the wind swung more to the SSW around 10.30AM.
Weather wise today we had a mixture of sunshine and cloud cover but still it was bloody hot.
Ok like I mentioned yesterday we have our annual Kuta Beach Fishing Tournament happening tomorrow so I’ll be out there with the boys chasing some sport fish. I’ll give ya’s a full report on the day as soon as I recover from the after tourno dinner and party.
I did get an sms text surf report from Jon who was surfing down along the beach breaks of Legian and he reckoned there were some nice shaped banks and some fun sized waves to be had.
Swell Predictions. Well according to the charts it’s going to get a little worse before it gets any better. We should see a small bump in size around next Tuesday then some decent sized waves by the end of next week come Friday.
Can you send Slim a text surf report from where you are in Indo today ? after the best conditions have already passed and you’ve had your fill of course ! Do it daily and you can promote a buisness at the same time (maybe get a free nasi goreng at your local warung, who knows). Contact me via email if your interested.
You’ll also find baliwaves on Facebook, twitter & instagram so get on it !
