BALI
18th November 2012
Hello surfers and another big thank you for tuning into the baliwaves.com (keeping the Bali stoke alive since 1999) for our Sunday Session on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so I was down on the beach this morning taking my first surf recon on the Outer Reefs at 5.45AM. The tide was just coming off the bottom of the low at the time and the wind coming out of the North at 3-6knot. Unfortunately there wasn’t much at all happening in the way of waves out there. On just breaking in the 1-1ft plus class and a grommet would be hard pressed to find any push between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Looking for a wave today while the wind is still light and variable I’d be heading back down to the southern end of the island to locations such as Uluwatu, Nyang Nyangs, Green Bowls and even Nusa Dua. Yesterday around midday the wind did switch back to the Western quadrant so the East Coast might be worth a look this arvo.
Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon we might see a little more energy on the ocean and then at least by Tuesday afternoon a little more again, Wednesday is looking the best at this stage.
The next tide today here is going to be a 2.1mtr High at 1.38PM
Weather wise there’s a fair bit of blue sky out there this morning and no rain fell last night (well here in Tuban anyway). Temperature wise right now at 8.30Am the mercury is sitting on a warm 28 degree’s Celsius, humidity is on 79%.
Ok that’s about all there is happening out there at this point in time. Ketut and I might take a run down and take a look at the web cam and give it a kick in the guts and see what happens.
In case you haven’t noticed I’ve also loaded another photo gallery from one of our regular guests here at Home Base. Just 39 photos from out and about between Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa. You can find that in our Readers Report section.

I think it’s “Aussie schoolies week” starting up here soon in Bali so be prepared for drunk teenagers in the streets of Kuta, zapping around on motorbikes and generally out of control.
You’ll also find baliwaves on Facebook, twitter (balisurfreport or baliwaves) & instagram (@baliwaves) so get on it !
Feel free to contact us via email about your next trip to Bali and we might just be able to help make it run a little smoother for you.
Best Regards from Bali
Slim
