BALI
19th November 2012
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping by the baliwaves.com (styling since 1999) for the latest news and always the best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Kicking off our day with the mandatory 6.15Am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Pretty similar sized as yesterday, maybe just a touch more energy with waist to chest high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was getting towards the bottom of the Low and there was a fair bit of dry reef out there. So Middle Reef having the bigger set waves and being better suited to the lower end of the tide was the only real possibility for a paddle.
But, as it shows in today’s photo gallery we opted to make the run over to Bali’s East Coast and see what was happening on location at Keramas. Arriving just as the tide was coming off the bottom and on the run back in to find only 3 surfers in the water on the main break and no one out in front of the car park. So for the next hour and a half the crowd peaked at 7 then dropped back down to 5. This lasted through until 10.00AM when the numbers jumped to 15 on the main break and 7 down on the car park. I do have to admit though as the tide did fill in there was better size and shape on the main break it self.
Surfing conditions were clean enough even though the wind was on shore coming out of the W-SW-S up to 7knot.
Weather wise the morning sky was looking dark and threatening rain but held off until mid morning here on the West side, and funny enough there was no rain at all over at Keramas. In fact standing out on the black sand shooting photos it was stinking bloody hot. Temperature wise right now at 5.15PM the mercury is still holding onto 30 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is coming out of the South at 3-5knot.
Ok crew that’s me for now and hopefully we’ll see a little more size out there on the reefs and beaches of Bali tomorrow. So stay stoked right here on the original Bali surf report website (’99).
