BALI
2nd Nov 2012
Good morning surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (Bali’s highest viewed surf report since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from none other than the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Well yesterday the 2nd and there wasn’t a helluva lot happening here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was lucky to be hitting waist to waist high plus. Then as the tide filled in towards midday it was looking like a big lake.
But just to save the day we hung out till late afternoon for the low tide and the hope of a slight small pulse in wave height before heading back down to Bali’s wave magnet location of Uluwatu for another Racetrack session. As it shows in this photo gallery there was the odd set wave when they eventually came through but in between it was pretty small.
Only a 1 foot ripple rolling down the line on Impossible’s and as you’d imagine absolutely flat on Padang Padang.
This morning’s 6.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was once again showing small waves in the 1-2ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Early morning low tide so only Middle Reef was an option, and there was the odd chest nipple high set showing. No surfers in the water at the time. Wind direction is ESE at 1-2knot.
The next tide today here in Bali is going to be a 2.0mtr High at 12.05pm
Weather wise outside right now at 6.10AM there is some light cloud that’s already pushing the humidity level into the 80’s and I’d say by midday the beach is going to be the only place to be, in the water. I’m actually looking forward to seeing some rain start to fall, when it eventually does start.
Swell Predictions. Well according to the charts it’s going to get a little worse before it gets any better. We should see a small bump in size around next Tuesday then some decent sized waves by the end of next week come Friday.
Tomorrow Sunday and I’ll be M.I.A as we have our annual Kuta Beach Fishing Tourno happening. A big day of sport fishing from traditional boats that we have been doing for quite a few years now. If you want to see how we go turn up at Kuta Beach around 2.00PM for the weigh in.
