BALI
22nd December 2012
Howdy folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (bringing a little bit of Bali to you since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
This morning we were up and on the road pretty eary again to make sure we caught the remainder of the tide. With our first stop being at Padang Galak, super clean surfing conditions at this location but just not quite enough size on the waves, only 1 other surfer in the water while we were watching.
From there we kept heading up the coast to see what was happening at Keramas ariving around 7.30AM. As it shows in today’s photo gallery there was some clean little fun sized waves breaking on both Keramas and the Car Park section. The average waves were in the head high class with super clean and smooth surfing conditions. Crowd wise we were definitley at the right location with only 6 other surfers in the water.
I also had a heads up from a friend who was surfing at Nusa Dua down on the South Eastern end of the island. He was calling wave height to be hitting the reef in the 2-4ft range (chest to well over head high), with clean off shore wind through the morning.
Weather wise here in Bali today it’s bbeen a mainly cloudy day with some sunny patches, and when that sun did show her self she was smoking hot. Currently right now at 4.45PM the mercury is still a sultry old 29 degree’s Celsius, humidity level is at 70%. Wind direction is still coming out of the West at 7-11knot.
ATTENTION: Mick Evans, sorry bro but your email address has been returning my email to you so if you can use an alternate address everything will be fine for your trip.
Just a heads up for anyone who fly’s Garuda Airlines, especially the expats who normally use a 12 month “OPEN TICKET” (as it was once know as). I got an unpleasant surprise yesterday when I wanted to change a departure date for my up coming ear operation (getting closer thank %#$@). Normally this change of departure date has no costs involved, hence “OPEN TICKET” and one can, as expats / frequent travellers, need to do. But no more, for the date of my choice / need to depart, the cost was in Aussie dollars $220.00. Any other date was in US dollars $106.00, either one day either side. Go figure that if you can. I had no forewarning or foremention of the new costs until I hit the counter at the Garuda Airways office here in Bali. Like I said just a heads up for the frequent flyers.
Once again wishing all our sponsors and you guys and girls a very Happy Christmas and a perfect New Year !
