6th – 7th December 2012
Howdy folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (keeping it real since 1999) for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions here on the best value for tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of BALI.
Ok so yesterday the 6th and surfing conditions and wave heights were pretty similar to today only I’d have to say slightly smaller waves. Well here on the Outer reefs of Tuban at any rate. Plus the wind direction was pretty variable right through out the day.
How ever as it shows in today’s photo gallery I snapped off down on location at Bali’s premier surfing arena of Uluwatu, there was quite a few fun sized waves hitting the southern end of the island. We arrived at Ulu around 8.30AM to fin a near empty line up, only 5 surfers riding the Main Peak to Racetrack section and another solo surfer sitting up on the Temple section. The tide still a little further to go to bottom out but there was still enough water over the rock on all sections. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy right through until 11.AM when the wind started to vary, first to the NW then W and as we were heading home at 12.00noon it was practically right around to the SE and blowing off shore.
Crowd wise there wouldn;t have been anymore than a maximum of 12-15 surfers in the water at any given time. With the Uluwatu local surfers putting on a good display of speed and power.
Weather wise it’s just been hot and sunny and right now at 3.50PM the outside temperature is sitting on 33 degree’s Celsius and the wind is coming out of the SE at 5-7knot+.
Ketut was in town for a little while yesterday afternoon and also snapped off a few street photos with the digimatic and I’ve thrown those in today’s gallery as well.
The weekend traffic has hit hard this week, driving back from Uluwatu at midday the main route “By Pass” road was jammed from Jimburan right through to the airport turn off. And I’d imagine it will only get worse as the day goes on.
