BALI
16th – 17th December
Howdy crew and thanks for taking the time out and stopping by your baliwaves.com to see what’s been happening here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Well to tell ya’s the truth not a helluva lot surf wise anyway. This current photo gallery I shot back up at Canggu yesterday morning with wave height in the 2-2ft+ range and a light on shore wind out of the SSW that slowly got stronger and stronger by midday. But perfect sized waves for the grommets who had turned up to rule in the smaller wave conditions.
This morning, trust me ! we made every attempt to try and find somewhere and something to surf but no real chance of that happening. We started off by heading over to the East Coast to Padang Galak or Secrets to find wave height just dribbling onto the shore in the 1-1ft+ sector and (by the compass) the wind coming out of the ENE at 4-7knot. So no use heading further North to Keramas because there’s wouldn’t been much different happening there only more surfers I’d imagine. No instead we jumped back in the rental and headed as far South as possible to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu.
Unfortunately even the mightly and powerful line up of Ulu was only just producing waist to waist high set waves. There were 20 odd *surfers in the water but with an appraoching solid High tide and an on shore wind, now coming freshly outta the South we packed it in and my crew have all settled on getting some afternoon massage time in. And at less than AU$5.00 per hour why wouldn’t ya.
Weather wise it was a clear blue sky’d morning and looking like a fantastic day coming on, well except for the waves that is. But shortly after we made it back to Home Base here in Tuban those big black stormy thunder storm clouds moved in and by 1.30PM that’s what we got. Thunder and lightnig storm, heavy rain that’s only just continued it’s path southward now at 2.15PM. Temperature wise at the moment the mercury is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius, with the wind now outta the North at 2-4knot.

Secondly we’d like to welcome aboard “Lines Magazine” who are putting together some insane issue’s of late featuring Indonesia’s best surfers at some of Indonesia’s best ever surfing locations. So check these people out !
