Welcome back to the baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination that’s got a wave for everyone, BALI.
No morning surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban, but I wouldn’t imagine there being too much too check out anyway. No sir, we were up before the birds this morning and heading up the coast for Balian.
We pulled into the car park around 6.40AM to see some nice lines stacked up on the peak in the head to almost double head high division. Surfing conditions were super clean right through until the time we packed up at midday. But as expected with the small swell available at most other places there were already around 45 surfers splitting the peak and more arriving. Balian is a laid back wave in a laid back little town and pretty easy to get the wave you want, lots of learners. So there’s usually plenty of waves for everyone.
We had a pretty cruisy drive up and back, I do know this road pretty good and also know all the dangerous area’s, but still drive super defensively on this stretch. Being the main artery for just about all goods and things in and out of Bali from Java there are 1000’s of maniac no sleeping type bus and truck drivers trying to break some kinda all time record trip time. This visit wasn’t that different from any run I’ve done up there, with half a dozen trucks scattered along the side of the highway with no cabins left, just smashed to bits. So do take care if you planning on using this road.
Weather wise today’s been another mostly sunny day with some cloudy patches. Currently right now at 3.30PM the outside temperature is on 30 degree’s Celsius and the wind coming out of the East at 20kms.
