BALI
8th – 9th May 2013
Hi surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report since 1999) for the absolute latest news and views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your next tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Yesterday the 8th and my morning (7.45AM) surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was still only showing wave height to be breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left in the waist to slightly over head high class. So we hung out before heading down to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu to catch the afternoon low tide session on the Racetrack. And as it shows in our current photo gallery it was a tube riding festival for all surfers involved.
Now this morning the 9th and my surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to have jumped from sedate to a serious 3-6ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. I even saw one set close out the channel between Airport Left and Middle Reef. Even with an appraching high tide there were a few rouge sets breaking way out in the bay of Legian (Karang Tengah). Kuta Reef was looking the good with head to double head high plus set waves, but if the size keeps coming even KR will be too washy. There were at least 30 surfers sitting out on KR and plenty more on the shore waiting for reef taxi’s.
Our plan today is to tread water for awhile longer and then head back down to the bukit and check out another famous low tide wave, fingers crossed there will be some action happening at Padang Padang.
Today’s Tide’s, the first of them today was a 2.4mtr High at 10.00AM and then we’ll have a 0.3mtr Low around the 4.00PM mark.
Weather wise out there this morning it’s another mainly clear blue sky and another hot one warming up around the beach. Currently right now at 10.30AM the outside temperature is already on 30 degree’s Celsius. The Tradewind has also started to kick in coming out of the East at 10km’s.
