BALI
21st June 2013
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (keeping you in the loop since 1999) for the latest news and views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the place to be in 2013, BALI.
This morning, I risked Ketut to ride over to Keramas beach to see if the contest was going to be running or not. I had the feeling that it wouldn’t be and would have wasted half the day driving over there, so Ketut took the bullet to save the team. Lucky for him he received a call from Gildine (Assistant Media for Tim Hain of the ISC / ASC) saying the contest had been called off around 7.15AM. So he only had to ride half way to Keramas before turning around.
But Ketut does love to get out there and shoot photos so he sumed up the conditions and headed straight for Canggu beach here on Bali’s premier West Coast. It was also there he hooked up with 2 of Bali’s veteran tour campaigners Devis Ratif and Pepen Hendrik. As it shows in the photos wave height was averaging in the 2-3ft range with the odd 4ft bomb set on the right hand river mouth and the left hand sand bar. Surfing conditions couldn’t have been much cleaner with a light NE wind.
Our midday surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was also showing wave height in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Middle Reef was showing the most promise with the tide still running out. And the wind is currently coming out of the East at 14kms.
The tide is just starting to run back in as I type and the next High will be 2.0mtrs at 8.45PM.
We’ve also got the Full Moon rising this Sunday the 23rd of June so these tidal ranges are just going to be getting bigger over the next week.
Weather wise at 3.30PM it’s a mostly clear sky this afternoon with the temperature still on 30 degree’s Celsius and the Humidity level at 79%.
Ok friends of Bali stay tuned right here to the baliwaves as we’ll be out there all weekend bringing you the latest news and views from here on the “island of the God’s” Bali.
By the way the photos we load on baliwaves are edited in LOW RESOLUTION which means low quality so I can get them loaded up for one thing. Feel free to copy them but read our disclaimer first and don’t expect a good quality print, all the original full resolution files are on my computer for the asking.
