BALI
16th July 2013
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so what I’ve done today seeing as though we didn’t shoot any new photos is load a few re runs from the Oakley Pro Bali and the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup Trials events that have run over here in some extremely good surfing conditions. But don’t worry the car is gassed up and we have a surf strategy in place for tomorrow morning so stay tuned right here.
Anyway this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs (re Twitter up dates), was showing a down grade in wave height between Kuta reef and Airport Left on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. But there were still waves in the waist to chest high plus region with a good off shore wind on it. I also went back down for another surf recon around 4.30PM to see that another pulse in swell was showing and wave height back into the chest to slightly over head on the Outer Reefs. But by this time the wind was howling off shore outta the SE but still quite a few surfers out on all of the 3 main sections of reef.
Weather wise we did get a few drops of rain earlier this morning and there has been quite a bit of cloud hovering around most of the day. The midday top temperature did hit 30 degree’s Celsius though.
Hey and don’t forget the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup (main event) is still on when it’s on with still plenty of waiting period time left on the clock. So hopefully we’ll get the swell and the contest will run. We’ll keep you in the loop with any news of the event.

NB: Petrol price has finally been increased here in Indonesia with a 40% hike so you can expect prices right across the board to follow suit. Being a small island everything we need comes here by truck. I would expect our beloved Bintang beer to be the first to be jacked.
