BALI
8th July 2013
Hwllo everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves.com ( the original Bali surf report since 199) for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on every sane surfers favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Starting off the day with our mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to find at 6.30AM wave height still only showing in the 1-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean enough with the wind coming out of the SSE at 4-7kms. No surfers in the water at the time.
From there we headed South for an eye ball at Balangan. Arriving around 8.00AM to see a very placid looking ocean with at least 40 *surfers in the water. We didn’t even see one wave break in the 10 minutes we watched. There is one photo of the Balangan set up in today’s gallery.
Next stop and the end of the line down on the West Coast was at Bali’s wave magnet and premier surfing location of Uluwatu. At first wave height here was also only just breaking in the 1-2ft class with 40 surfers spread from Temple’s down to the Main Peak. But we perceivered and hang out long enough to see a few head high set waves starting to show. Surfing conditions at Ulu were clean enough but with the wind still coming out of the SSE and cross off shore. By the time we packed up our gear looking out at the line up there was now over 100 surfer* at 12.30PM.
Weather wise it was another overcast morning with rain falling from Kuta to Seminyak when I was picking up my crew. Mostly overcast through out the morning a a few sunny periods through the afternoon. Right now at 5.30PM the outside temperature is still sitting on a warm 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 79%. Wind direction is now a cleaner SE at 20kms.
Sunset will be at 6.13PM.

Ok friends of Bali have a good one and hopefully we’ll see a slight spike in wave height so stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report.
NB: Petrol price has finally been increased here in Indonesia with a 40+% hike so you can expect prices right across the board to follow suit. Being a small island everything we need comes here by truck. I would expect our beloved Bintang beer to be the first to be jacked.
