BALI
12th July 2013
G’day folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (keeping it real since 1999) for today’s news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so this mornings first check on surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a great day of waves install for the lucky buggers naround here. The wind was still coming out of the North at the time, but only light so surfing conditions were clean and tidy. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was already showing in the 2-3ft+ sector. And with the tide just starting it’s run in for a midday high tide it was a certainty to get bigger. Kuta Reef already had at least 15 surfers in the line up by 7.00AM and maybe even more at Airport Left with 6-7 reef taxi’s parked in the channel.
Our afternoon surf check was indeed putting wave height now into the 3-5ft+ sector on the Outer Reefs with some screaming tube rides going down on Kuta Reef. There were even some big wall rolling through the middle of the Bay (Karang Tengah) towards Kuta / Legian. So it looks like a good weekend of surf coming our way.
I also had a text from sarge over at G-Land in East Java at 8.30AM calling wave height to be already in the head to well over head class on Money Tree’s and lining up real nice.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
Weather wise it’s been a pleasure to have a so far rain free day here on the holiday island, fingers crossed it stays that way for a few more months at least. Temperature wise the midday mercury was sitting on 32 degree’s Celsius and the wind pre dominant out of the SE (Tradewind) up to 15knot+ at times.
Ok friends stay to tuned to the original Bali surf report cause we’re going to be out there all weekend shooting the shit out this swell.
NB: Petrol price has finally been increased here in Indonesia with a 40% hike so you can expect prices right across the board to follow suit. Being a small island everything we need comes here by truck. I would expect our beloved Bintang beer to be the first to be jacked.
