This morning I didn’t get a chance to do a surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban as we were up early and on the road heading for the east side of the island. How ever I did get a look at around midday just after the high tide had passed and it did indeed look pretty good out there. There were still consistent waves between Kuta reef and Airport Left with 2-4 footers peeling off. Kuta Reef definitely the pick of the big three.
How ever as it shows in today’s photo gallery a little bit of local knowledge (almost 20yrs worth) came in real handy. My guests and I were frothing at 3-4ft+ perfect right handers and there was only 6 other surfers in the area when we arrived. Light off shore wind and a rising tide through the morning, even by the time we packed up to head home at 11.00AM there were still perfect waves grinding through and still only a handfull of surfers in the water. I would have liked to stick around but didn’t want to chance getting caught in the Idul Fitri holiday traffic.

So yes sir over the next week at least we can expect some insanely over crowded traffic with all our friends from Java flocking to Bali for a drive around in circle type holiday.
Today’s G-Land surf report came through just after 7.00AM calling in wave height to be still holding in the head to double head high range with clean off shore wind on it. No surffers out at the time, still needing a little more water over the reef. I’ve also received a new batch of photos fresh outta G-Land from our man on location and will get those up for you ASAP.

Weather wise here on the holiday island it’s been another classic Bali holiday type. Loads of blue sky and sun shine with a midday top temperature of 32 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction has been pre dominately out of the SE.
