BALI
18th August 2013
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (delivering the goods since 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali. Not to mention G-Land and the Mentawai Islands thrown in as well.
Ok so yesterday the 17th and it was our Sport Fishing Tournament filling our day and then the after party into the night. A fantastic day had by all participants and you can check out some photos and a full report of the day in our baliwaves Fishing report page.
I’ve also loaded a fresh G-Land photo Gallery and a new Mentawai islands surf report on their respective pages so check it all out before you check out.
Today the 18th and our morning surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing a nice little boost in wave height and some perfect 3-5 footers breaking between Kuta reef and Airport Left / Right. Surfing conditions this morning were clean and glassy with hardly a breath of wind. Then around 9.00AM it was light on shore coming outta the SW before the SE off shore Trade wind kicked in around 2.00PM
I had Ketut take a run down to Uluwatu for the afternoon low tide Racetrack session and as it shows in our latest photo gallery it was tube riding heaven down at Uluwatu today. Ketut said there were around 40 surfers spread from the top to the bottom of the Racetrack. The last few photos on display were shot from on the beach at Padang Padang and show Impossible’s peeling off a few 2-4 footers.
Today’s G-Land surf report came through at 9.00AM calling in wave height to be cranking through in the 5-8ft class from the Ledge through to Money Tree’s. Clean and glassy surfing conditions but needing the off shore wind to hold those walls up.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
NB: all photos on baliwaves.com are edited to low resolution / quality as possible for easier viewing. We do have all the original photo files for safe keeping and just drop contact us if you need a full resolution / quality original.
Weather wise it was another mainly hot and sunny day here on the holiday island.
