BALI
1st & 2nd September 2013
Hello surfers and thanks for cruizing by the baliwaves.com (blasting away since 1999) for the latest news and un beatable views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane place to hit on your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
Ok well yesterday we tried to find some waves over on the East Coast at Keramas, I mean we did really try. Arriving at Keramas to an empty car park and high hopes, even though the wind was already on shore out of the SE. It still would have been ok I guess with no one else in the water. But low and behold on the main break there were already more or less 20 surfers. 20 surfers and this is the dry season when people don’t surf the East Coast, what’s it going to be like over there when the season switches again.. So we left there confused with all and headed to another little known location that can produce some nice waves. There were a few 2-3 footers breaking but already half a dozen surfers out there and again the wind was on shore. So we just bit the bullet and drove back to Tuban and settled for an afternoon session on the Outer Reefs.
This morning the 2nd and it was game on with some new swell showing on Kuta Reef in the 3-4 foot class and clean straight off shore SE wind. It would have been 7.00AM when we through the anchor and a quick head count had 24 surfers in the line up. But 24 at KR is no drama at all as there’s a fairly size’y take off zone. Plus the waves were pouring through consistently. Today’s points have to go to Local Tuban surfer “Sima” who was carving and hacking his way through some long walls.
I also got some intel from our man at Keramas phoning through at 7.00AM calling wave height in the 3-4ft sector. Clean and glassy surfing conditions but once again with 20 surfers already in the water. I should get some photos through later tonight so I’ll get them on line for ya’s tomorrow.
Tommy over at G-Land phoned through at 9.00AM calling waves on with 4-6 footers and the off bigger freak set on the Ledge through Money Tree’s. Clean off shore wind and 25 – 30 surfers spread through the line up.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.

Weather wise here in Tuban today it’s been another perfect day here in paradise. Wind direction was pretty well straight East early before shifting more to the SE and building to Trade wind strength by 10.00AM.
