BALI
3rd September 2013
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for today’s news and shit hot views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your primary tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Well what a day it’s been here on the island of the God’s. Starting off with our mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to find wave height having grown to a very healthy 4-6ft+ between Kuta reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were not too bad through the early morning before the off shore SE Tradewind really wound itself up. But even so just a little too much water moving out there and washing past the reef instead of wrapping and bending around the reef on Kuta Reef.
Even so there were some happy surfers and Nikko from www.shakasurfcharters.com reckons it was the best 10 bucks he spent in a long time. Usually when the swell gets a little too big out there the reef taxi’s double their fare for the risk involved. And I do think there may have been a boat or two rolled over out there this morning.
As it shows in today’s sick photo gallery we were down on location at Padang Padang for the early afternoon Low tide and optimum conditions for the Bali Pipeline. The local surfers really own this place and just look at the photos and see just how casual they handle this wave. Crowd wise it was getting a bit crazy with around 45 surfers and half a dozen water photographer guys spread right through the wave.
There was also no shortage of lines wrapping down the reef at Impossible’s.
Our man on the East Coast at Keramas called through at 7.30AM calling wave height to still only be showing in the head to almost double head high range. But surfing conditions were pretty ordinary with the SE on shore Trade wind already kicking in early.
Tommy from G-Land was calling in 6-8ft++ bombs and mostly a wash out for the crew over there today. But there was a few ridable waves in between the freaky’s at Money Tree’s. I’d say as this swell settle’s down over the next couple of days it will be cranking again over there.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
NB: all photos on baliwaves.com are edited to low resolution / quality as possible for easier viewing. We do have all the original photo files for safe keeping and just drop contact us if you need a full resolution / quality original.
Weather wise here on the holiday island it was just pure holiday weather, blue sky and midday top temeprature of 31 degree’s Celsius.
