Alrighty, well yesterday was a big road day for me as we were off before the crack of dawn and winding our way up the west coast of Bali to Balian. Arriving at 7.20Am to find wave height a clean and tidy 3-4ft with the off bigger freak set waves. Only 4 other surfers in the water at this time, but by around 9.30AM there would have been around 30. You’ll find the photos I shot up at Balian in the second half of today’s photo gallery.
This morning how ever with a fading swell and a predicted off shore ESE – SE wind we made our way down to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving at 9.00AM. Wave height as it shows in the opening photos was in the 2-2ft class with the off 3 foot freak set on the Main Peak and Temple sections. Surfing conditions were clean enough but there wern’t no off shore wind, she was straight South with a degree or two of West thrown in. Crowd wise, as expected with the small waves at one stage I counted 85 surfers spread from Temple’s down through to the top of the Racetrack.
Weather wise it was another steamy hot one here on the holiday island with the mercury hitting the low to mid thirties on the Celsius scale.
Changing dollars to Rupiah down on the bukit; — 1AUD=Rp10,835 — 1USD=Rp11,145 —
Hopefully we’ll see a small spike in wave height tomorrow, so stay tuned to the original Bali surf report cause we already have a plan in place to find some better waves.
