BALI
27th – 28th October 2013
Hi everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since 1999) for the latest news and a few vies on what’s been happening surfing and weather wise right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
As I mentioned previously yesterday the 27th was our Anual Kuta Beach Sprot Fishing Tournament. Ketut and I tried our best and battled it out with the other 60+ boats and crews, but no luck for us on the day. Some big fish were boated and weighed in and the after party on Kuta beach was also a big event to finish of another fantastic fishing event. BTW, Ketut and I covered a lot of Km’s and the biggest waves we saw were 2 footers at Uluwatu and Nyang Nyangs.
Today the 28th and nothing has changed surf wise that’s for sure. Here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban wave height was still only in the 1-1ft+ class. But the good news is that since yesterday afternoon the SE off shore Trade wind has kicked back in here on Bali’s premier surfing coastline.
The Ando’s sent through their sms text report from Canggu calling wave height to be in the 1-2ft range. Unfortunately this SE Tradey blows cross / on shore up that part of Bali’s curving coastline.
Today’s photo gallery (thanks to Ketut Pica) was taken down at Uluwatu on the extreme South Western end of the island. And as ya’s can see even Uluwatu was only in the 2ft range with the very occasional slightly bigger freak set.
G-Land surf report 27 oct 2013 from our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp was calling in the surf at 2-3ft, offshore winds, with the best section moneytrees, low crowd, slight increase in swell from yesterday, sunny clear skies and just another great day to be over in this pristine untouched natural jungle setting.
And don’t forget seeing as it’s the end of the season and there’s hardly any surfers over at the perfect left hand wave location baliwaves.com is handing out a 15% discount to anyone who wants to cash in on some perfect waves. Just contact us here at baliwaves.com
Weather wise last night we did get some rain fall here in Tuban, but by sun up there was nothing much more than a blue sky with a midday top temperature of 34 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction has been predominately SE all day.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Legian today: –1AUD=Rp10,620 –1USD=Rp10,935 —
Ok folks tomorrow is not looking much better surf wise than it was today, so I might just push the boat down again and try my luck for a fish and chase some Wahoo and Spaniards.
I’d also like to give Electric (Indonesia) a big Thank You for our new sunglasses and gear and you’ll be seeing more of this cool label on baliwaves in the very near future.
