BALI
26th December 2013
Hello everyone and we certainly hope that you have (or still are having) all had a nice break over the Christmas period, we sure did. Thanks for stopping by the baliwaves to see what’s been happening surf and weather wise from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well since my last report, we did do a run up to Keramas arriving to see semi un crowded 2-3ft waves with a strong off shore wind on it. But by the time we had ran back to the car to get our gear a strong southerly storm blew up and trashed the surf right before our eyes. You know, how many times has the wind been blowing off shore all day while your at work and then just as you knock off it turns on shore. So we hung out for the storm to pass and see what happened, but the wind and rain just kept coming.
This current photo gallery was shot by Pat while he was playing around with his digimatic at Keramas on the 24th, thanks Pat.
Today the 26th and so far it’s kinda like a recovery day from too much food and too many beers yesterday. But our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs has wave height in the 1-1ft+ range with a howling Westerly wind chopping up thhe ocean. I also had a call from our bro at Keramas at 8.30AM calling it at 2ft and also with a strong cross shore Westerly wind. We might take a run over to the East Coast later this afternoon if the traffic isn’t grid locked like it has for the last 2-3 days.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.0mtr High at 4.30PM
Weather wise so far it hasn’t been too bad with a mostly sunny day and a very nice change from the last week of rain we had.
Ok so like I said the traffic here at the moment is murder with all the domestic tourists here for the Christmas / New Year holiday period. Hopefully only another week or so more before it settles down.
