BALI
22nd December 2013
Hello everyone and thanks for checking into the baliwaves.com (The original Bali surf report website since 1999) for the latest news and views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Yesterday we settled for some easy waves over at Serangan on Bali’s East coast, and at the time it seemed like a good call. Arriving at 10.00AM for the rising tide, 2-4ft waves and a clean off shore wind. Things were looking good with only 30 or so surfers in the water over the whole set up. But within an hour later it was surf school city with soft top mals going every which way but loose. I mean total reckless abandon. There were some sweet A frame peaks but it was like bumper cars with the learners just in crash mode. But anyway, there were a few waves before hand and it probably wasn’t much longer that the wind turned more on shore and the tide filled in too much.
Weather wise it was cloudy and overcast on the East Coast with light rain and drizzle the whole time we were over there.
This morning the 23rd and our surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to be still hanging in that waist to chest high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. A lot more wind out there this morning as well with a 15knot Westerly white capping it out.
Weather wise right now at 9.50AM we have more grey sky and the rain has just started to fall. Temperature wise the mercury is sitting on 25 degree’s Celsius.
The next tide today will be a 2.0mtr High at 1.30PM
Ok that’s it for now as we are just getting ready to head out and see if we can find some waves. Drop in later this evening and see what we found ok.
We’d also like to wish all our supporters a Very Merry Christmas where ever you may be, and everything bigger and better in the New Year to come. Thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com and we do have a few new plans for 2014 that’s going to keep you stoked.
Speaking of Christmas, if your in the market for new sunglasses then check out the Dusty Payne polarized model from Electric here in Bali. I don’t leave home without mine.
