BALI
14th December 2013 (Day 3 of nicotine free)
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping by and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves.com (working through weekends since 1999) for today’s news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from the only sane choice to spend your next tropical surfing holiday, Bali.
We kicked off our weekend with a 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Not a lot happening out there at the time with 1-2 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, maybe the odd freak head high set wave hitting Middle Reef. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the tide still running in.
So we threw the boards on the roof and headed south to Uluwatu around 7.00AM. Arriving to see some super clean and glassy waist to head high plus waves hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections. The tide was now on the run out and the wind turning a more direct off shore out of the ESE. Crowd wise, there were 20 surfers in the line ups when we arrived and maybe 40 in total by the time we packed up. While we were on location there was one helluva thunder, lightning and rain storm swept right in on us.
Driving home Padang Padang Padang and Impossible’s there wasn’t anything happening except the usual surf schools hanging out in the channel on Impossible’s.
Today’s surf report from Keramas was calling in wave height in the knee to waist high section with 6 surfers in the water. Surfiong conditions were clean and glassy at 8.00AM.
Weather wise it was another brief morning of sunshine before the clouds rolled over and dropped their load on us down on the bukit. Right now at 4.00PM it’s also pretty over cast here in Tuban with the chance of an over night shower or two. What wind there is is still coming outta the SE.
