BALI
27th – 28th January 2014
Hello again surfers and thanks for caling by the baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for the latest news and best available views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok well as you may might well have imagined yesterday the 27th and wave height was still only in that waist to waist high plus sector over at Keramas. Light wind and clean surfing conditions through the earl morning before the Westerly wind kicked in again.
This morning the 28th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking like wave height had even backed off a little more. Only showing in the knee to waist high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, with the wind already coming out of the West at 5knot.
So Ketut and I cruised back over to the East side firstly taking a look at Keramas. Wave height was still ranging in the waist to waist high plus setcor but I think I did see one or two head high freak sets. Surfing conditions were still clean enough but with the Westerly wind alrady pushing cross shore. Around 15 surfers on the main break while we were there.
On the way back home we stopped off for a quick look at what was happening at Serangan. Wave height there was pretty much exactly the same 2-2ft+ but with surfing conditions a little cleaner and the wind more off shore. But crowd wise there would have easily been over 100 learner surfers in the water and a bit of “bumper boards” going on.
Weather wise today it’s been mostly hot and sunny on both coast lines, right now at4.30PM the outside temperature is still a warm 27 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is pretty well much straight out of the West.
Finally the swell prediction boys and girls have put good color into the charts heading our way. Hopefully by late Thursday, Friday morning we should have some nice sized waves that should get us through the weekend. Then by Monday morning we get to see some moderate swells and solid waves.
