BALI
3rd – 4th January 2014
Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination called Bali.
Yesterday the 3rd and Ketut took a run back over to the East Coast to see what was happening wave wise at Keramas. And as it shows in today’s photo gallery there were some nice 2-4 footers breaking from the main break down to the car park. Clean and smooth surfing conditions while Ketut was over there.
This morning the 4th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airports. The tide was still pretty low at the time so only Middle Reef was an option for a paddle. And surfing conditions were clean enough to do it with a light Notherly wind.
Ketut is already out there on location with the camera equipment this morning and there should be some good waves to shoot. So drop in later this afternoon to see what went down.
Weather wise there has been a few sunny breaks over the last couple of days and this morning started nicely with mostly blue sky. Right now at 9.00AM it’s around 50 / 50 cloud to blue with the temperature on 27 degree’s celsius.
The next tide today is going to be a 2.4mtr High just after noon.
Today’s sms surf report from Keramas (8.45AM) is calling 1-3ft waves with clean and tidy surfing conditions. Should improve with a little more tide, 20 surfers on the main break at the time.
I thought seeing as though I still have close to 100 of those short video clips in storage and around 1000gig of raw footage tucked away that I’d throw up a couple of old clips. Some of you might have already seen them but I’m sure a lot haven’t. The first clip is one from Padang Padang in 2009.
I’ve also found some un seen photos from a little digital tour of some scenic locations around Bali. You can find them in the Readers Report section.
