BALI
31st January – 1st Febuary 2014
Howdy folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (delivering the goods since 1999) for the latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the place that you’d rather be, Bali.
Yesterday the 31st and my crew knew there would be some more swell to play with so we made our way back over to the East Coast. Arriving at mid tide to find wave height still a pretty solid 3-5ft with the odd bigger freak set pushing the 6ft mark. Surfing conditions were clean enough but it was still testy and not for the inexperienced to say the least. Crowd wise there was some traffic at first while conditions were a little cleaner. AT 12.00PM my team hit it for a second session, crowd wise it was a lot mellower with the wind more cross shore. Wave height was also backing off and by then in the 2-4ft range.
Weather wise yesterday it was partly sunny, partly cloudy but still over on the black sparkling mineral sand east coast beach it was damn hot. Wind direction was straight out of the West with gusts up to 20knot+.
This morning the 1st of Febuary and the Westerly has been howling since before day break here on the West Coast. Hard to tell how big the wind chops are on the Outer Reefs between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Our 7.30AM surf report from Keramas on the East side was calling wave height in the 2-3ft+ range with clean and glassy surfing conditions. Around 20+ surfers already out on the main break just after the bottom of a low Low Tide.
The next High tide will be at 11.15AM @ 2.5mtrs
Weather wise today it looked like we might have had some rain early this morning but has cleared up for another hot, sunny & humid day here on the holiday island of Bali. Temperature wise right now at 3.45PM the mercury is sitting on 31 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity level at 65%.
