BALI
5th Febuary 2014
Hello again everyone and thanks again for tuning into the baliwaves.com (keeping you a little bit closer to Bali since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendliest little tropical surfing holiday island called Bali.
Well yesterday the 5th and the waves just didn’t stop grinding through. Our first surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was also looking not too bad with 3-4ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At 6.45AM surfing conditions were pristine with hardly a breath of wind. Unfortunately though the tide was on the bottom end of the low so only Middle Reef was an option. But I did hear by mid to late morning Kuta Reef had a solid crowd on it and some nice waves peeling off wih a light on shore wind. Airport Left had 4 surfers and some really fun waves according to Lewis and Travis.
But my crew and I did the bolt back over to the East coast with our first pit stop at Padang Galak / Secrets. Arriving at 9.30Am with the tide starting to flow back in to find wave height a fun looking 2-4ft with a few ok waves peeling off the A frame reef. But my crew opted to continue back up the coast to see whta was happening at Keramas.
As it shows in this current photo gallery wave height at Keramas was still in the solid 5ft range with the occassional slightly bigger freak set. Crowd wise there was only around 28 surfers on the main break and only half a handful sitting out in front of the car park. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through until around 12 noon. We were also lucky to have the Champ back out in the line up surfing just as smooth as silk.
Weather wise it was another hot and humid day along the coast with a top midday temperature of 31 degree’s Celsius.
This morning the 6th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing a substantial drop in wave height with 1-3ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Wind direction is coming out of the NW at 3knots.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.1mtr High at 2.30PM
Ok friends of Bali tune in again later on and we’ll go see what we can find to surf and share with you a bit later on this afternoon. Have a fantastic day where ever you may be and what ever you may be doing.
