BALI
3rd March 2014
Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (delivering the goods since 1999) to see what’s happening here surf and weather wise on the primary destination for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
Now this mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was only just showing a slight increase in wave height. At the time around 2-3ft with a slightly bigger freak set between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. The tide was just starting to push back in with clean and glassy surfing conditions.
But we all knew there was swell in transit to us today. So by the time (8.30AM) I had Ketut and the camera equipment on location at Uluwatu there were already 4-6ft+ barrelling waves hitting the Main Peak. Crowd wise Ketut reckons there would have only been around 30 surfers spread from the Peak down to the Track.
A quick surf check on Impossible’s from the bridge over Padang Padang on the way home was also showing some clean 2-4 footers peeling all the way down to Bingin.
Our man on the East Coast phoned through at 7.45AM calling in wave height in the 2-4ft range on the Keramas main break with a light and clean off shore breeze. Then an hour later Kadek called through again saying it had jumped from 4ft set waves to 6ft+.
I also received the mail that Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp is already open for surfing and that they indeed have 3 lone surfers currently over there with them. Just contact us here at baliwaves if you want some G-Land waves this season and we’ll help you get over there with a fat 10% at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp.
The next tide today in Bali is going to be a 0.3mtr Low around 5.30PM
Weather wise it was another fine and sunny morning here in Tuban but around midday it did cloud over and we did get a few drops of rain. Right now at 3.15PM the outside temperature is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level at 77%. Wind direction is now coming out of the WSW at 10-13knot.
Internet in Bali, apparently just after I left for my Aussie trip last month a nasty electrical storm did some kinda damage to Telkom’s system and took out the wireless internet. I do know my usual source is still not fully operational and I’m really on my iphone’s hot spot function which is still working. Hopefully they’ll get it together again soon.
Nypie Day 2014 is fastly approaching on the 31st of March so I thought I’d just give you a quick heads up on that. You know the day the whole island of Bali, International airport included shuts completely down for the day and all public (local and internation) must remain indoors / off the streets and beach for the day.
We also have another new page on the baliwaves where anyone who has a villa or property etc can list there goods and hopefully through the baliwaves you just might find the right buyer, or visa versa. check it out here; https://www.baliwaves.com/for-sale/
Just contact us if you have something to list.
